Dodd’s is the oldest record shop in Michigan. It was founded by Gerry Dodd, who passed it to its current owner, Charles Preston Smith, in 2014. Charles stocks the store store with vintage records, t shirts, and a vast array of other music merch and collectibles.
Talking with Charles, he made it clear that a modern or polished look is not what he was going for. The appeal of the store lies between its retro/vintage background, and the wacky-fun energy of the brand today.
This rebrand focuses on those qualities to create a system that allows for visuals that represent Dodd’s eclectic uniqueness, while maintaining an authentic and cohesive identity.
